The Mayor’s Office of International & Immigrant Affairs - Welcoming Atlanta, in partnership with the Atlanta Department of Procurement, Invest Atlanta, and The BIG Partnership hosted a "Doing Business with the City of Atlanta" workshop. This workshop showcased how businesses and organizations can work directly with the City of Atlanta and was centered around how organizations can bid for contracts, become vendors, and apply for business licenses. This quarterly program aims to empower minority-owned and small business owners by simplifying the process and providing a direct line of communication with City officials while fostering a more diversified supply chain of vendors.

The 39th Annual International Consular Ball "Lights, Camera, Action: Atlanta Showtime" presented by the Georgia Council for International Visitors (GCIV) and Chaired by Vanessa Ibarra, Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of International and Immigrant Affairs for the City of Atlanta, was the premier event that brought together the international and diplomatic communities in the City of Atlanta. #ICB2022 brought together not only the diplomatic community, but corporations, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, trade offices, chambers of commerce, and government representatives on a local, regional, and state level under one roof and at a brand new location, Flourish Atlanta. This event celebrated the many achievements of these various groups and acted as a catalyst for future endeavors. Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock, @ghcc_news (GHCC) President and CEO, Veronica Maldonado-Torres, and members of the GHCC Board of Directors, including MOIA Director Vanessa Ibarra, were proud to announce that the GHCC will receive will receive funding to help Hispanic business owners in the City of Atlanta and State of Georgia! This is the first time in Georgia’s history that a Hispanic organization will be the recipient of such funds.The $293,000 will allow the GHCC to launch the Hispanic Small Business Revitalization program which will provide Hispanic small businesses with access to technological training, business mentoring, and individual business consultation, in both Spanish and English. Many Hispanic business owners received little to no funding from the federal stimulus programs, especially women-owned businesses.
